Brazil’s economy—Rough weather ahead

It is no doubt that 2015 was the toughest year for Brazilian. Not only has the drought and the deforestation put Brazil in danger, but also Ms Rousseff’s left-wing Worker’s Party and its allies are embroiled in a corruption scandal involving Petrobras, the state-controlled oil giant, making Brazilians in anxiety. Above all, it is the economy where the storm-clouds are stacked highest. As inflation rose and tax receipts slowed, what the government do and expect for the economy have little chance to achieve according to the opinions fromthe economist.Moreover, the author pointed out that any adjustment big enough to restore public finance is destined to push up the jobless rate.

Throughout the article, the author held a strong criticism to Ms Rousseff, writing that her second term will be stormy and gloomy. Meanwhile, her new-found appetite for reforms will not be matched by capacity to accomplish them.
