Weekend with Son

This weekend, I accompanied my son.

I run alongside his bicycle over 7 kilometers. I took him to the football trainning course. We played the game of go. I checked his homework tonight, this is bad news for him.

In these activities, I find the good characters which need to be praised and the drawback which should be corrected. Although, I have studied several skills from the tutor named Fandeng. Go back to the actual operation, these skills are hard to apply into the specific condition.

My son said that he has finished all the homework. When I asked him to cross-refference with the list copied from his teacher, he missed several items. He thought he has finished all the questions in math textbook, but he write nothing for two questions which don't have the underline.

According to the tutor Fandeng said, the best opportunity for developing a good habit is the time when the kid do the right thing. Obviously, this time was not a good opportunity. But there were so many things were missed, I can't help to say something.

First, I let him to finish his homework by himself.
Then, we sat together in front of our whiteboard. I did not criticize him at all. We just discussed about the improvement measures. We summarized several items:

1. He need to tanscribe homework of each subject. After finishing one task, he should marked it with a tick.
2. He should inspect his school bag after class to make sure that all the stationery, textbooks, exercise books are taken back.
3. His is three princinples need to be observed:
   a. Read the text of question
   b. Go through each picture in the question
   c. If he cann't go the exactly meaning of the question, repeat to read three times.
   d. When he is reading the text, don't miss any word or number
   e. After finishing all the questions, go back and check each one again.

Perhaps, next time I need to find a better opportunity when he performs well.
