who moved the cheese

Firstly, I think this book is an interesting story which full of philosophy of life.

There are 4 characters. Two are mice. One is called “嗅嗅” and another mouse is called “匆匆”. The other two kind of character are small men about the size of mice. Their names are “哼哼” and “唧唧”.

In addition, there is a delicious cheese that the 4 characters all like it. "Cheese" is a metaphor for what we want most in life. It could be a job, relationships, money, possessions, health, peace of mind.

The maze in the book represents a place where you spend your time and energy pursuing what you want. It maybe the company you work.

When they find a big and delicious food together, the difference appears between mice and small men. The mice keep the instinct of running and searching. The small men begin to stop to enjoy the cheese in front of them.

Higher-order species like humans are endowed with too many emotions, such as joy, sorrow, diligence, and laziness. Animals do things by instincts, such as ants moving, bees collecting honey, and so on. Humans do things based on these emotions. Some people just satisfy with current situation. Some people will consider a lot about unknown risks.

For example, "哼哼" chose the former, and "唧唧" chose the latter at last. I don't want to evaluate who made the right choice, because there is no right or wrong choice.

However, in today's rapid social development, if you choose the former, you can also live. If you want to get or learn something new, you must keep up with social development. Sometimes we can only choose the latter.

For example, I changed jobs to Emerson. I never thought I would share a book with you in English. I also cannot image that I had participated in an English speech contest and an external Toastmaster English club. It sounds incredible because I have completely given up on English since I graduated from postgraduate university. I want to say that choosing to change myself and leave the original comfort zone not only made me see a lot of new things, but also reignited a lot of enthusiasm.

I do not encourage you always change your jobs. I find my ex-colleagues always learn a lot from the same company. Just keep learning and enthusiasm. Its OK. Thank you.
