plant也是一个用法挺多的词。

作名词时，①植物，②工厂；发电厂，③(不可数)工业用的大型机器、设备，④内线、卧底。

作动词时，①种植、播种，plant＋植物"种某植物"；plant sth (with＋植物)"在某地种某植物"。②安放。③(秘密地)放置，安置(为了把它藏起来)。④栽赃，词组:plant sth (on sb)"给某人栽赃某物"。⑤使卧底，安插(密探)，词组:plant sb (in sth), eg. He was an America spy planted in Africa during the war.⑥文中的意思。

⒉Before long, it becomes indistinguishable from ideas (developed through careful thought).

   long before 很久以前

可以这样记忆:[before long]before 的第一个辅音字母b读起来有那么一丢丢像"不"，所以这个词组就是"不久之后"。[long before]就直译就好，long 久，before 前，很久之前。
