How to increase my vocabulary? In my opinion, the biggest challenge of learning English is remembering the new vocabulary. I have tried a few of ways. All of them are not useless, but I couldn't insist on each of them for a long time. The main reason is that the effect of them cannot reach my expectation. I have thought about it for a long time. I tried to analyze the reason. How can those English native speakers know so many words? Think of ourselves. How could we know so many Chinese words? We listen, speak, read and write everyday in Chinese. But how did I remember English words? I just recited them and I just tried to remember the Chinese meanings of those English words. That's very different. I have to change the method. I have to learn English by the method of learning Chinese or using Chinese as far as possible, although I know it's impossible to do it absolutely the same. Moreover, if I just saw a word one time every year, how could I know its meaning? The repetition is the most effective way to increase my vocabulary. I don't believe I can never know more than 20,000 English words. I won't give up.
