What to see:

Right outside of the stationexit number 3is the biggest square in Ningbo covering an area of 200,000 square meters. There are a few attractions near Tianyi Square and the major one that's located right at Tianyi Square is aCatholic churchcalled Ningbo Jiaoqu Yaohang Street Catholic Church. You can find it near the Gugo at Tianyi, it’s really near to the Burger King and Subway outlet. The architecture of the Church was inspired by roman architectures.

Tips:If you need to go to the church on Sundays, the church offers the servicein english.

Where to shop:

Tianyi Square is widely known as one of the best shopping areas in Ningbo where you can find almost anything u want. The Square particularly divided into 10 different sections. You can get electronic devices and gadgets from the electronic area, buy your household essentials from Mercer and Vanguard, buy cosmetics from Sephora. You can also find your common high-street brands here like Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, Nike and Adidas.

Tips:Ningbo is famous for its garment industry and its Hong Bang Tailor culture traces back to Qing dynasty; the very first Sun Yat-sen jacket was also from their hand. Why not try some local fashion brand like PeaceBird and Youngor?

If you are looking for more premium shopping experience,Heyi Avenueis just 5 minutes away from the station (Exit 4) and just go straight to the right and voila u arrive at Heyi avenue where you can find luxurious brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Gucci. On the avenue there's a supermarket called Ole where they offer higher quality of goods and they claim more than 50% of their products are imported from abroad. You will have a better chance to find familiar food and beverages brands imported from your home country there.

Tips:Chinese people have very distinctive food preference, although it's more common to find 'exotic' foods in the local supermarkets now, most of the products are adapted to meet the local taste. For example, most sliced bread you can get from local supermarkets are usually sweetened and are extra soft, that's because most Chinese families don't toast their bread but eat the bread directly.

What to eat:

There are loads of restaurants at Tianyi Square that can fit your taste buds well. The most popular ones include Grandma's home (Waipojia,外婆家), Mcdonalds and KFC. High end restaurants include Tairyo Japanese teppanyaki and Pepper Thailand Restaurant. There are also a wide range of international cuisines like Cantonese, Italian and classic American, try sweet sour pork in Grandma's home (Waipojia,外婆家), it can be said as one of the best sweet and sour pork in Ningbo.

Tips:China may not have a long coffee-drinking history but it certainly has a long history of tea-drinking. If you are need a break on your shopping routine, instead of straight in Starbucks, try out chain tea-houses like YichaYizuo, HappyLemon, YiDianDian, where you can get all sorts of cold or hot tea beverages.
