1. words and phrases.

1)But Mom seemed like she was in a hurry to get this over with, and she moved us along.

Get over with: 一劳永逸地做完(不愉快但不得不做的事);把…做完了事

e.g. Lets get over with our job before playing basketball.

2)I don't mean to brag or anything, but what we came up with was way better than the Crossland High School haunted house.

Brag:自大,吹嘘;自夸,夸口说

e.g. She always brags about her experience.

3)I will admit maybe we stretched the truth a little in our advertisement.

Stretch the truth: 夸张,夸大事实

e.g.To say he is ill is stretching the truth-- he was merely drunk.


4)So we had to cut some corners from our original plan.

Cut some corners:找更方便的办法,或更便宜的办法来做一件事。但是,这样做并一定会有好的效果。

e.g. I tried to cut corners by fixing my car myself instead of taking it back to the dealer.

5)The first kid to cough up his two bucks was Snella.

Cough up:咳出;认罪;勉强说出(某事);掏出

e.g. Will this enough to made him cough up $1000?

2. sentences

1)I admit that if you looked around, it didn't really look like a haunted house.

e.g. I admit that she is quite good at socializing.

2)I guess it was a little embarrassing when Mom did that, but I'm willing to let it go this one time.

e.g. I guess I am done with the food.

3. Diary

The interview thing was finally over. It was not bad. Those questions we prepared were asked by the interviewer and I answered it pretty well. My friends helped me work on my interview preparation very hard. I really appreciated that. I always believe chances are for the people who are prepared.
