User similarity

The goal is to make automated prediction of user preferences by collecting evaluation

data from many other users, especially those whose evaluations are similar to evaluations

from the target user. Denote the rating from user u on object � as ru� and let u be the set

of objects that user u has evaluated. The average rating given by u is �ru = 1
