Governance and Education: from Denizen to Citizen

Somebody was complaining about the endless meeting and the so-called "Remember-your-original-intention education" the other night. I never believed in this stuff even when I was a kid, so I was always curious whether anybody could actually be affected spiritually. Tonight I just recalled the explanation provided by Governance and Education by Xu Ben: Those "collective" activities were never meant to convince you of anything. The real purpose was to create a sense of anxiety, a worriedness that we could be left alone if we did not participate and show obedience.

I read that part pretty late at night. The deepest fear I felt was a lifetime experience.
