Beautiful Day

In this chapter, the author's intention is not to lead us from reading to writing. It is rather to remind us that one approaches the ideal of good reading by applying the rules the author has described in the reading of a single book, and not by trying to become superficially acquainted with a large number.

The first thing a reader can say is that he understands or that he does not not.
