With the continuous development and change of economic, social, education and technological environment, the market space for studying abroad is expected to continue to grow. From the perspective of economic environment, the rise of disposable income and the rapid growth of private wealth have greatly promoted the development of the overseas study market. Combined with China's tradition of respecting teachers and emphasizing education, education accounts for an increasingly high proportion of household expenditure.

Nowadays, exchanges and cooperation between countries around the world are getting higher and higher. Education is no exception. Among them, studying abroad is the most important aspect of education's internationalization.

Studying abroad generally refers to a person going to a country outside his home country to accept various kinds of education, the time can be short or long (from a few weeks to a few years). These people are called "international students".

The data shows, since the 18th national congress of the communist party of China (CPC), China has continued to expand its study abroad scale, and the number of people studying abroad and studying in China has increased at the same time.

The scale of studying abroad has steadily increased, the number of people returning to China has continued to increase, and the "deficit" between the number of people returning to China and those going abroad has gradually narrowed. Since the 18th CPC national congress, the scale of studying abroad has steadily increased.

The proportion of students studying abroad and returning home dropped from 1.46:1 in 2012 to 1.26/1 in 2016. More than 80 percent of those studying abroad choose to return to China after completing their studies.
