DAY 6 | THE DANGER OF THE SILENCE

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends." Said Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr.

I do agree with it. Usually we pay attention to the things that people are saying instead of what they don't in most occasions. Unfortunately, what we ignored are often more important.

For instance, when it turns to the voting part in a meeting, it's a consensus that silence for agreement while speaking means opposition. We all know that standing needs courage while keeping silent needs nothing. When people stay silent, what they didn't tell is "I don't have the courage to show my opposite position".

Sometimes silence means acquiescence. You can see this in a famous poem named 'First THEY CAME for the Communists. The censure to those silent people is everywhere.

As the video of TED said, we should speak loudly for silence sometimes means danger.
