This summer holiday,I joined the project REGENERATE to be an exchange participant in AIESEC in BINUS UNIVERSITY in Indonesia,fortunately.What I have gained from this experience is cooperation for being a volunteer,friendship,the difference between countries and confidence.
Part I all about the project,the activities and friendship.
To begin with,I'm going to introduce the project REGENERATE.It's a project to advocate healthy life,so we held some roadshows at middle schools and orphanages.Before that,we got a training and times of preparation.Especially the preparations,we recomposed the PPT for really many times because the children's ages are quiet different in different orphanages and schools.Frankly speaking,It's tired and boring to deal with the same knowledge but the roadshows showed us that it worths.

The children are drawing the food they like and we will teach them which is healthy and which is unhealthy.You know,kids always like playing LOL.

The orphanage owner told us that it is her father who established this orphanage and when her father passed away she took over it. They need to pay for the children's living cost and the government doesn't give them too much financial help so it's kind of hard to take care of so many orphans.But fortunately,there is some kind people who are willing to fund them.From our view,they are poor to live without their parents.And the youngest orphan was just born few months ago.However,I think I'm so satisfied when I saw there was smile on their faces.By the way,the girl in blue really made a deep impression on me.She is so clever and cute and she always takes good care of the younger.
I still remember what we will say after every roadshow and activity.----'Thanks everyone for today!'
Actually,the part of this project I appreciate most is the people there.The OCs and local volunteers really helped us a lot!They showed us the Indonesia,the places maybe we need to go,the food we need to try,everything we need there,the culture we need to know and so on.They are really nice and helpful!

There are eight EPs in our project,Ali from Egypt,Agata from Poland,Hilde from Netherland,An from Vietnam,nour from Algeria,Erin,Loing and I from China.We have different culture,different language,different nationality,different skin color but we met in Indonesia.It's really a pleasure to know you all.
Unexpected friendship in the Global Village：

During the Fun Day,we went to the thousand island!
After jumping from the bridge(!) we are going to see the sunset!!!
We got a chance to meet in the airport!
I have never received such many letters at one time before!!!When reading them,began to smile,suddenly cried,smiled again and bursted out crying......Thank u all for ur help and kindness which made me gain more confidence.I will appreciate this experience forever and I miss these guys sooooo bad!!!Hope we can meet again!Love u all forever!!!
Part II the difference between countries
I met so many friends from different countries there.Everytime when others asked me 'where are you from?',I would answer them proudly.Actually,when I stay in China,I don't really feel that proud of being a Chinese,because almost every one around me is Chinese so that I didn't have any feeling of difference of being a Chinese or not...For this reason,when I went abroad I got that feeling of being proud of being a Chinese.
There are really many differences between countries,so I just mention the most important parts of them.
I Religion
It's not really common for people having religion in China,but in Indonesia,people must have a religion in law,which is shown in their ID card.There are 5 main religions in Indonesia,Islam,Catholicism,Chirstianism,Buddhism and Hinduism.Most of people in Indonesia are Muslim.They can't eat pork,can't drink alcohol,can't smoke,they need to pray for 5 times a day and so on.But actually,the religion is not as that strict as many years ago...so sometimes they just egnore the rules......
II Enjoy and relax
What I like most there is the feeling of relax and enjoy.For example,when we drive the car in China we are so mad at the traffic jam or some drivers who don't obey the rules.However,in Indonesia,the traffic jam is much more serious,because they almost don't have any public transportation.Our friends as drivers are really calm facing this kind of conditions,listening some music inside the car.By the way,we really like to stay in cars!The cars are really like KTVs,so that we played songs there,sang songs there,and also moved to the music!!!It's really a way to relax ourselves.For this reason,I want to advocate that the drivers in China should keep calm when you are in the car.It doesn't work if you go mad or not,so why not just give yourselves a reason to be enjoy and relax.
III Distance between people
The distance between people varies countries to countries.When some European people meet their friends for only the first or the second times,they will use cheek kissing.Honestly,when my friend who only met me for the second times did cheek kissing to me,I was shocked......But I'm already used to it~And when it comes to Indonesian people,sometimes they just shack hands,which we only do for our leaders in China sometimes...So,this is also kind of weird,when others shaked my hands when the first time we met...However I'm also used to it now~
In China,we usually keep people in distance when we are not that close.We only make a greeting in distance.However,I think it's better for us not to keep distance making a greeting because I feel that not keeping distance makes us close more easily!Distance is kind of guard.When u guard others and keep them in distance,it feels like you don't want to be close to them.So,hide your guard!Be enthusiastic!
