Ethereum Classic Might Have Been Hit by a 51% Attack
Late last night on Twitter, the official Ethereum Classic team noted that possible chain reorganization and double spend attacks are ongoing. They subsequently asked crypto exchanges and ETC mining pools to require as many as 400 confirmations for withdrawals and deposits. At 7 this morning, the Ethereum Classic Twitter account posted an update that may provide clarity on the situation. The post claims that a crypto mining manufacturer was testing out a batch of new devices and engaged in selfish mining.

Parity Technologies awarded $5 million grant by the Ethereum Foundation
Parity Technologies announced on medium that they have won $5M grant from Ethereum Foundation for their work on Casper, sharding, light clients, developer tools, QA, audits and infrastructure improvements. Parity Technologies is a startup who developes free open-source tools for developers to interact with the Ethereum network and launch their own EVM-based blockchains. According to Parity Technologies, they will now focus on making Ethereum even better by completing eWasm compatibility, shipping a light wallet for mainnet, and completing otheir work on sharding Phase 0 and 1.

Over the last eight weeks, the world has watched the yellow vest protests in France as the grassroots political movement has fought for economic justice. On Sunday, the well known street artist Pascal Boyart (Pboy) revealed a mural that contains a solvable puzzle with 0.28 BTC inside. The artist explained that the puzzle cannot be solved remotely and that sleuths must visit the location to decipher the painting’s clues.
