1. Skimming##

Skim the title, boldface type, introductory and summary parts and predict what you will learn in this chapter

2. Question

Change all the titles and headings into questions

3. Reading

Read and answer the questions

4. Recalling

Without looking at notes or books, map this chapter and answer the questions

5. Reviewing

Look at your questions, answers, notes and books to see how well you actually recalled the reading. Fix carefully in your mind the logical sequence of the entire idea or problem, or of all the concept in each chapter. Finish up with a mental picture of the whole concept.

PS

  1. The bulk of time should be used for step 4 &5
  2. Put down your highlighter, but make marginal notes instead
  3. Write a summary of a chapter
  4. Read as less time as possible, but quiz or recall as much time as possible.
