Computer programming education goes viral in China

As Chinese parents are paving the way for their children's bright futures, computer programming has gone viralacross China.

随着中国父母为为孩子光明未来的铺路，机器人编程迅速风靡全国。

Miaocode, a Chinese startup offering online coding lessons for primary and high school students, has announced theclosing of a pre-A round of funding of 16 million yuan (US$2.55 million). 

miaocode（为中国的中小学生提供在线编程课程的中国开发）发出声明，关闭pre-A基金的费用大约要1.6亿人民币，约合2550万美元。

"We have seen a 50-percent surge in user subscriptions and 85 percent of student users have finished their classessince last year. The funding will help us design more tailored courses and improve services," said Guan Chunhua,founder of Miaocode. 

据统计，去年激增了50%的订阅用户和85%的学生已经完成了他们的课程。miaocode的开发者说，这笔基金可以让我们设计更贴切的课程并且升级服务。

Coding was not well-known among Chinese children or their parents a decade ago, but now even preschoolers arestarting coding classes as China is pushing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. 

在几十年前，编程并不为大多的父母和学生所知，但现在，随着中国对科学，技术，工程和数学教育的推广，连学前孩子都开始学习编程课程了。

Since 2015, the Chinese government has been issuing guidelines encouraging schools to experiment with STEMeducation, including coding.
