• 从VAMI UI更新vCenter Server Appliance 6.5 / 6.7失败，并显示以下错误：

设备（OS）根密码已过期或即将过期。在安装更新之前，请更改root密码。

• 从VAMI更改密码失败，并显示以下错误：

无法设置密码

 原因

当VAMI无法更改过期的root密码时，会发生此问题。

 解析度

要解决此问题，请从vCenter Server Appliance命令行重置根密码：

1. 使用SSH会话和root用户凭据连接到vCenter Server Appliance。
2. 键入shell以获取命令提示符。 

注意：如果无法使用root密码登录SSH连接，请使用以下步骤更改密码  如何在vCenter Server Appliance 6.5和6.7中重置丢失或忘记的root密码
 

       3.使用passwd 命令更改root密码  。
       4.使用以下命令验证根帐户密码是否已更改：

chage -l根

        5.再次尝试升级。

 

Command> shell
Shell access is granted to root
root@photon-machine [ ~ ]# passwd
New password:
Retype new password:
passwd: password updated successfully
root@photon-machine [ ~ ]#
