Chapter 14

Lady Catherine herself says that in point of true beaty, Miss De Bourgh is far superior to the handsomest of her sex, because there is that in her features which marks the young woman of distinguish birth.           ––Jane Austen

Outline:

When the servants were withdrawn, Mr. Bennet started to have some conversation about Lady Catherine with Mr. Collin.

After that conversation, Mr. Collin read Fordyce’s Sermons to the ladies, and Lydia interrupted him because she can’t endure his monotonous solemnity. And Collin felt be much offended.

Word study:

1.eloquent adj.

2.affability n.

3.condescension n.

4.abode n.

5.ornament n.

6.monotonous adj.

7.antagonist n.
