'The play may begin at any moment,' I said.

'It may have begun already,' Susan answered.

I hurried to the ticket-office. 'May I have two tickets please?' I asked.

'I'm sorry, we've sold out,' the girl said.

'What a pity!' Susan exclaimed.

Just then, a man hurried to the ticket-office.

'Can I return these two tickets?' he asked.

'Certainly,' the girl said.

I went back to the ticket-office at once.

'Could I have those two tickets please?' I asked.

'Certainly, 'the girl said, 'but they are for next Wednesday's performance. Do you still want them?

'I might as well have them,' I said sadly.

知识笔记:

1.朗读(L0): 提交录音的时长为59秒,原音正文部分58秒左右。

2. 音标(L1):begun  /bɪˈgʌn/  hurried  /ˈhʌrɪd/

1)学习该音发音方法请先学习/ə/和/ʊ/这两个单元音。

2)首先嘴型呈半圆并稍向前突出,舌后部向软颚抬起,不要与之接触,发出/ə/。

3)然后很快的滑向/ʊ/音,发音结束时,颚部慢慢抬起,嘴唇慢慢合上。

3. 今天是第十九天: 发音的部位还需要练习固化,现在慢速或者单独练习音标时能注意到发音部位,在语速变快时容易被带回到错误的老习惯中。还是需要注意英语的音多数靠下这一特点。
