3. stagger V.=to walk in an uncontrolled way as if you are going to fall over
e.g. She staggered and fell.

4. fairly= to some degree, but not completely or extremely
e.g. His statement explains the situation fairly well.

5. placid= rarely showing or experiencing excitement or anger
e.g. a placid baby/horse/child
e.g. a placid expression/face
6. tame= a tame animal has been trained to stay calm when people are near it, because it is used to being with them
7. vet= to check someone’s character or reputation to find out if they are suitable for a particular job
e.g. They have to vet individuals who work with children.
