Meg很害怕，她想到不只是害怕坏天气，还有其他如学校，在学校老是被批评。已经是年级垫底了。“年级垫底”用英文怎么说呢？如下：
She’d been dropped down to the lowest section in her grade.
她想到那天早上老师发怒道：“Meg,真的，我实在是不明白一个有着优秀父母的孩子怎么会是这么差的学生，如果你再不做好点，明年你就等着留级吧。”
That morning one of her teachers had said crossly:“Really, Meg, I don’t understand how a child with parents as brilliant as yours are supposed to be, can be such a poor student. If you don’t manage to do a little better you’ll have to stay back next year.”
里面有个单词crossly，cross作为形容词使用时意思是：交叉的，相反的，乖戾的，生气的
Cross: angry or annoyed生气的，恼怒的
1. Get/be cross with sb.
Sometimes i get very cross with the children.有时候孩子们让我很恼火。
2. cross at/about sth.
She was cross at being interrupted.被人打断了话，她很生气。
吃午饭时，Meg和同学大打出手试图让自己感觉好点，其中一个女孩轻蔑地说：“别忘了，Meg,我们不是中学生了。你为什么还一直像个小孩子？”

复数：roughhouses过去式和过去分词：roughhoused现在分词：roughhousing
例如：Okay, guys, slow down. No more roughhousing.好了，伙计们，歇会儿吧，不要闹了。

Scornful: adj.轻蔑的，轻视的，蔑视的
比较级：more scornful最高级：most scornful
Scorn: n.轻蔑，嘲笑，藐视的对象；vt.轻蔑，藐视，不屑做；vi.表示轻蔑，表示鄙视
英文：the feeling that someone or something is stupid or does not deserve respect
例如：He felt scorn for his working-class parents.他鄙视自己工薪阶层的父母。
例如：Rachel looked at me with scorn. Rachel神情鄙视地看着我。
注意scorn后面的介词不同。
Pour scorn on sb./sth. : to strongly criticize someone or something because you think they do not deserve respect.对某人/某事嗤之以鼻（不屑一顾）
