Grammar

• 冠词
  1）在专业名词，物质名词，抽象名词前一般不加冠词，比如人，地，国名，节日，月份。
  e.g.
  Tian’anmen Square
Hyde Park
Billy
Russia
Chinese Valentine’s Day
March, peace, friendship, knowledge, importance, paper, bamboo, milk, water, air
  2）如果是festival开头的民间节日, 要加the.
  e.g.
  the Spring Festival
the Mid-Autumn Festival
  由普通名词构成的专有名词要用the
  e.g.
  the UK, the US, the UN
  3）表示一类人或事物的复数名词前不加冠词
  e.g.
  I like watching movies。
  4）名词前如果有物主代词my、指示代词this、不定代词some或名词所有格‘s修饰时，不用冠词。
  e.g.
  his the schoolbag => his schoolbag/the schoolbag
  5）表示三餐、球类、棋类、游戏、季节、星期、语言、学科的名词前一般不加冠词。
  e.g.
  I like chemistry, but I don’t like maths.
He usually has his breakfast at home.

  6）家庭成员的名称、称呼语或只有一个人担任的职务的名词前不用冠词。
  e.g.
  Sir, Madam, Mr. Zhang, Father, Mother (家庭成员后可加物主代词your)

  7）在有些词组中，有无冠词会影响句子意义
  e.g.
  in hospital住院 ;in the hospital在医院（看病或工作）
in front of 在…前面（before）；in the front of 在…前部
go to school 去上学；go to the school去这个学校

如果这些地点名词只是表明与这些地点用途等相关的活动时，前面不加the
如果这些表示处所的名词专指具体地点、具体处所时，前面就要加冠词the

• 特殊疑问句
  1）六个基本疑问词：what, who, why, where, how, when
  2）基本结构：
  • 特殊疑问词+系动词+主语
  e.g.
  How old are you ?
  • 特殊疑问词+助动词+主语+谓语
  e.g.
  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time ?
  3）其他疑问词
