WinFS

"WinFS" items are strongly typed (that is, structured) and schematized. A "WinFS" installation includes a large number of built-in Windows types that can be used for managing everyday information. For example, a document can be stored in "WinFS" as an instance of the System.Storage.Documents.Document type. A digital photograph can be managed as an item of the System.Storage.Image.Photo type. Other types include System.Storage.Contacts.Person, System.Storage.Contacts.SmtpEmailAddress, and System.Storage.Audio.PlayList. There are even types for managing applications and tasks.
