The Last Man (Chapter One)

The day they feared most has begun. William unsheathed his elegant steel dagger, with the shape of a dragon etched in it. He thrust his blade into the guts of Dave, who has just tried to rip his throat apart.

The battle has started, and it was no ordinary battle. It will be a war fought to the very end, it will be a war fought for survival, for pride and glory. This battle will determine who is the last man standing.

William pulled the dagger out from Dave's gut and sliced it across the neck of an adult he has never before seen in his life. William's dagger, clothes, and hands were soaked in blood, and as his keen blue eyes swept across the horizon where many corpses now lie. "Hey." A voice startled him and he turned around. A boy with long blonde hair stood there, looking at William with his green eyes. The boy's skin was a pale, ghastly shade of peach. "Uh, hi, name's Jake." The boy said as William lifted his dagger. "I'm fifteen." Jake said.

William looked at Jake warily as he slowly lowered his dagger.

"William. Nice to meet you. Now tell me what are you doing here." William said, holding out a hand. Jake shook it firmly and smiled.
