关于cv2.findContours、cv2.contourArea因OpenCV版本问题报错

（解决）error: (-215:Assertion failed) npoints >= 0 && (depth == CV_32F || depth == CV_32S) in function 'cv::contourArea'

在网上学习OpenCV时，用到了一段关于轮廓检测的代码：

cnts = cv2.findContours(edged.copy(), cv2.RETR_LIST, cv2.CHAIN_APPROX_SIMPLE)[1]
cnts = sorted(cnts, key = cv2.contourArea, reverse = True)[:5]

运行后报错：

error: (-215:Assertion failed) npoints >= 0 && (depth == CV_32F || depth == CV_32S) in function 'cv::contourArea'
 

将原来的代码改成如下即可解决：

cnts = cv2.findContours(edged.copy(), cv2.RETR_LIST, cv2.CHAIN_APPROX_SIMPLE)[0]
cnts = sorted(cnts, key = cv2.contourArea, reverse = True)[:5]

出错原因是原来的代码是适用于OpenCV 3.x版本，然而运行在新的版本4.x就会出错。
