It is the second day of my streak. So far so good. I have checked in all three of my activities yesterday. I walked more than three miles in the cold; finished one Spanish lesson on Duolingo. Right now I am not in the hospital with my Dad. So I have more resources such as WiFi connection, which the hospital room doesn't provide. I would have to do everything on my cell phone with cellular data. And the connection is poor. I'm lucky so far that there are other of our relatives willing to stay there with my Dad.

It is no fun for growing old. For our generation this is especially true since not only we have to take care of our children, after that is done, it is time for us to take care of our parents. In my case, I have to drop everything that I've got going and come back to my parents to take care of them. This means my current job! I just have a few years left before my retirement. This almost means I have to stop working a few years earlier. It is very difficult for most of people in my situation because usually people can't afford to have their working carrier cutting short like this. The financial implication could be significant.

I often feel very proud of leaving my job and coming home for my parents. But I didn't realize that this was just the beginning. It's not like that once you made the decision, then you're done. There are more things that I have to do. Staying with a seriously ill, and aging parent is very challenging. More later on this.
