We will discuss how you will receive information from Cranwell and how you can keep in contact with your Cranwell adviser. So why does Cranwell need to communicate with you, We need a reliable way to communicate with you about your legal status in the United States. These emails are our way to communicate important immigration related information to you, Do not ignore emails and read them thoroughly to stay up to date. While you were here at Virginia Tech and in the United States, you will likely hear a lot of information regarding immigration from various sources. However, only a Cranwell International Center international student adviser, can give you correct information regarding immigration. This means not your friends, not your professors, and not your academic advisors. Only Cranwell can give you the correct information regarding your immigration, It is our responsibility to make you aware of the regulations.

What is your responsibility as an international student, You, as an international student, are responsible to stay in status, know the regulations of your immigration status and understand these regulations. Ultimately, you are responsible for maintaining your immigration status. Cranwell advisors are not the United States Government. We work for Virginia Tech and are here to help you understand your responsibilities. In this section, we will discuss travel while on your F1 status.

Before you travel, there are some things to consider. First, if possible, you should register for classes for the next semester before you travel. Second, you must request a travel signature from the Cranwell International Center. You do not need one to leave the United States, but you will need a valid travel signature on your I 20 to reenter the United States. These travel signatures are valid for one year from the date they are signed.

The travel signature request takes 10 to 15 business days to process, so you should not wait until the last minute to request your travel signature. If you have an emergency and must return home or back to the United States, early, contact Cranwell immediately. So we may expedite your signature if Granville is closed, contact the Virginia. Tech Police via their non-emergency number.

In order to return to the United States after travelling, you will need the following items. A valid, not expired passport. A valid, not expired. If one visa. A signed copy of your most recent I. 20 with an unexpired travel signature. And we recommend that you bring an unofficial transcript and copy of your class registration for the upcoming semester. You cannot travel and return on your F1 visa after the end of your program. This means that if you finish your programme of study, you wait and are not participating in post completion. O, P, T.

When you leave the United States, your F1 status has ended and your F1 visa is no longer valid for reentry into the United States. Remember to always let us know about employment, travel, enrollment in courses less than full time expiring documents and any other subjects that you may have questions law. Also, please remember to allow time for requests to be processed by an advisor. But as a reminder, do not forget to check out the International student programming module.
