01.cherish
vt. 珍爱
vt. 怀有（感情等）；抱有（希望等）

无论如何都值得被珍视。

你在神父面前，发誓会爱、尊重和珍视对方。
史蒂夫第一次在小船上和戴安娜解释“婚姻”的时候说的，cherish也常用于婚礼上的誓词，我们经常会看到西式的婚礼上，神父都会问新郎新娘的一句话：Do you take XX to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor and cherish, in sickness and health, until death do your apart? 你是否愿意娶XX为你的合法妻子，爱她，尊重并爱护她，无论生病还是健康，直到死亡将你们分开？
02.sword
n. 刀，剑；武力，战争
What if I didn't use a sword?
要是我绝不用剑呢？

Put the sword down, first of all.
先把剑放下。
大家都知道在电影里戴安娜有一把“弑神之剑”，并且随身携带，印象非常深刻的是戴安娜拿着剑到处乱闯的时候承包了电影里的不少笑点。剑的单词是sword，那么我们还可以记住一个短语 ：double-edged sword 就是双刃剑（指对双方皆不利的局面，或敌我不分的计谋）。
03.sculp
vi. 雕塑；雕刻

我太想得到你，我亲手用泥土雕刻了你。

vt. 用黏土处理

戴安娜在第一次看到人类小孩的时候冲上去想抱一下的时候，被史蒂夫制止了。史蒂夫说了这句话，电影里翻译是“你会弄伤他的”，结合英语原句就是“这里的小孩可不是用泥土做的，你会弄伤他的。”
05.corrupt

阿瑞斯不光腐化了德国人。
corrupt这个词很常出现在电影里。最常见的意思是“腐化、堕落”，宙斯的儿子阿瑞斯使人类堕落，电影里不止一次强调，即使阿瑞斯就在一切腐化的背后，他把人心中的“恶放大”，但却阻止不了像史蒂夫这样的人会去牺牲自己为了阻止战争。这就是人性的不可控性，也是我最喜欢这个电影的原因之一。
06.retreat
n. 撤退；休息寓所
vi. 撤退；退避；向后倾
vt. 退（棋）；使后退
The God of War was forced to retreat.
战神被迫只好撤退。

为了时间紧急要逃跑，这也有人接应。
07.wound
n. 创伤，伤口

08.compel
vt. 强迫，迫使发生
The Lasso of Hestia compels you to reveal the truth.

09.innocent
adj. 无辜的；无罪的；无知的
n. 天真的人；笨蛋

10.defend
vt. 辩护；防护
vi. 保卫；防守

保护世界是我们神圣的使命。

She should at least be able to defend herself.

defend oneself 意为自卫；申辩；自行辩护。说到defense，我们还会想到另一个单词defence，其实这两个词的用法和词义都是一样的。区别就在于defense为美式，defence为英式。
11.armistice
n. 停战，休战；休战协议
Von Hindenburg has recommended the Kaiser sign the armistice.
兴登堡已经建议皇帝签署停战协议。

他就不会签署停战协议。

15.reinforcement

我们需要帮手。
These are the reinforcements?
这些是帮手？
reinforce增援，加强，这个单词有点难记，我们用拆分的方法拆成re-再 + in-入 + -force-力量 ，再一次注入力量，就是增援、加强的意思了。
16.gala
n. 祝贺，庆祝；节日，特别娱乐
adj. 节日的，欢庆的；欢乐的
Ludendorff is hosting a gala.
鲁登道夫要举行一场宴会。
Actually, the gala could be perfect cover.
其实宴会很可能是个掩护。
If I'm going to a gala, I'll need to know how to dance.
如果我要去舞会，我就得知道怎样跳舞。

17.sway
