While the good times have been well chronicled,(记载）the subsequent bad times have been unsuprisingly ignored.

It is more fun to reminiscence (回忆） on irrational exuberance(繁荣） than the mess that get left behind.

Meanwhile,the  consumers it serve had turned inward, obsessed with (沉迷于）their virtual lives.

Stories  tracking  the insanity  of  business  in  these times  are  well-known.  You
no  longer  had  to  make something  that  other  people wanted to buy in order to start
a booming company. You just had to have an idea for somesort  of  Internet  thing  and
announce  it  to  the  world  in order  for  eager  investors  to fund  your  thought experiment.  The  whole  goal was to make as much money as  possible  in  the  shortest amount  of  time  because everyone  knew  on  at  least  a subconscious (潜意识）level that reality had to set in eventually.
