OpenWrt kernel install分析(1)

一. 前言

        本文主要介绍OpenWrt内核的编译和安装流程的流程。

二. 流程分析

1. 在include/toplevel.mk中加入如下语句

include/toplevel.mk:
kernel_install: prepare_kernel_conf

         此时,在OpenWrt源码的根目录下就可以执行make kernel_install编译安装内核源码了

2. 进入target/linux,BOARD=mediatek,所以进入target/linux/mediatek下,Makefile源码如下:

        由上分析可知,此时BuildTarget=$(BuildKernel)。

4. make -C mediatek install命令的install目标在BuildKernel中,BuildKernel代码如下:

        由上可知,install目标依赖于$(LINUX_DIR)/.image,$(LINUX_DIR)/.image依赖$(STAMP_CONFIGURED),$(STAMP_CONFIGURED)依赖$(STAMP_PREPARED)。

        以上代码主要工作:生成内核的.config配置文件,安装内核的头文件(user_header)。

三. 总结

        至此,install目标的$(LINUX_DIR)/.image的依赖执行完毕,主要做了如下事情:

1. 解压内核,为内核打patch,安装内核头文件(user_header)。

2. 配置内核,主要是通过拷贝target/linux下的config-xxx文件到build_dir下的内核源码路径。

3. 编译生成内核镜像,拷贝到对应目录。
