C44993--Day13-主语宾语互换类谬误

Form: all X are Y

[premise]: All people who obey the law are those who stay out of trouble with the police.

[conclusion]: All people who stay out of trouble with the police are those who obey the law.

[Attack]: I think that this fallacy is False conversion. Because a number of other conditions have to be in place for the converted statement to be true. Although it is true that “all people who obey the law are those who stay out of trouble with the police.” It’s not true that “all people who stay out of trouble are those who obey the law.” The converted statement not only violates a well-established rule of deductive logic, it is also very different empirical claim whose truth must be independently supported by the evidence.
