Hey guys, I’m Richard, and welcome to my workshop.
I name it 4 square meters workshop, cause, it’s literally that size small.
It’s really something cool, to have your own space. Through hard work and finally create it.
This video will show how I make it happen.
Initially this mini garage served as a tiny warehouse for years. And tons of stuff stored here. What a mess.
So first I need to clean the space then paint the door, which is rusted.
Then I start component 1: bike-supporting.
Let’s speed up!
I owned an e-bike, though I didn’t ride it for long, it’s better to hold it somewhere in air. I make 3D design in my brain and got a triangle-supporting idea. Not the best, but enough to entertain myself. That’s how I make it, inch by inch.
Second, the stuff shelter.
Set up three pillars to support, making the most use of second-hand woods, and when I say most, I really mean it. Those shelters used to be a bookrack, now they are reshaped to content other woods.
Lastly, the tool wall.
That’s when I bought materials, wide board and logs, cost 200 ¥. Carrying the board and place it on wall is no easy. I calculate the distance and drilled about 200 holes of 10cm diameter. I assembled a saw, look at it, it speed my log-cutting time so much. Hammering all the short logs in holes, then you can start arranging all your kit and tools. When done, I feel the most satisfying time since I start.
For now It’s almost done. Not perfect, but really satisfied me a lot.
Well, this inch by inch project cost me like 2 months long, totally 20 hours. And need to plus almost the same time thinking time.
I got this workshop idea just followed my fixing of house last year. Build a personal space where I can make creating and rebuilding possible.
4m² is so much limited. So I need to design more. And what make it harder is, I can do it only beyond work time, mostly at night you may see from video.
This video together with its article cost a lot of time energy, only 1/3 of my work is shown.
I do make the dialogue in English, cause I believe the right way to keep you language work is to use it in any chance. Luckily I know how to translate it and make the title for my audience.
