怎样克服你的坏情绪?

情绪问题、心理问题一直都存在,然而社会或者个人对于他们要么视而不见任其发展、要么就是视如瘟疫极力抵抗,我们对于身体上伤害的关注远远大于对心理的伤害。

So it's time we closed the gap between our physical and our psychological health, it's time we made them more equal.

首先我们来看一下有哪些常见的心理问题以及心理问题给人们带来哪些伤害。 

1.Loneliness.孤独

Loneliness creates a deep psychological wound, one that distorts our perceptions and scrambles our thinking.

It makes us believe that those around us care much less than they actually do. 

It makes us really afraid to reach out, because why set yourself up for rejection and heartache, when your heart is already aching more than you can stand.

Chronic loneliness increases your likehood of an early death by 14%, causes high blood pressure, high cholesterol. It even suppress the function of your immune system, making you vulnerable to all kinds of illnesses and diseases.

 2. Failure.失败

We all have a default set of feelings and beliefs that gets triggered whenever we encounter frustrations and setbacks.

Our mind tries to convinced us we're incapable of something, and we believe it, we'll begin to feel helpless and we'll stop trying too soon, or we don't even try at all. And then we'll be even more convinced we can't succeed.

3. Rejection.拒绝

Rejection is extremely painful.

We all start thing of all our faults and all our faults and all our shortcomings, what we wish we were, what we wish we weren't, we call ourselves names after a rejection.

4. Ruminating.回味负面情绪

To ruminate means to chew over.

Ruminating about upsetting events in this way can easily become a habit and it's a very costly one. Because by spending so much time focused on upsetting and negtive thoughts, you are actually putting yourself at significant risk for developing clinical depression, alcoholism, eating disorders, and even cardiovascular disease.


面对这些坏情绪,我们要怎么应对呢?

1. Pay attention to emotional pain. 重视、直面情绪问题。

You can't treat a psychological wound if you don't even known you're injured. That's why it's so important that we prioritize our psychological health, that we practice emotional hygiene.

2. Stop emotional bleeding.阻止情绪受伤。

 It might be very natural to feel demoralized and defeated after you fail. But you cannot allow yourself to become convinced you can't succeed. You have to fight feelings of helplessness. You have to gain control over the situation. And you have to break this kind of negative cycle before it begins.

3. Protect your self-esteem.保护你的自尊心。

We know from dozens of studies that when your self-esteem is lower, you are more vulnerable to stress and to anxiety, that failures and rejections hurt more and it takes longer to recover from them. So when you are hurt, you should be doing is to revive your self-esteem.

4. Better negative thinking.用新思维来看待负面情绪。

We have to catch our unhealthy psychological habits and change them. Studies tell us that even a 2 minutes distraction is sufficient to break the urge to ruminate in that moment.

So when you have a worrying, upsetting, negative thoughts, you need to force yourself to concentrate on something else until the urge passed.

By taking actions when you're lonely, by changing your responses to failure, by protecting your self-esteem, by battling negative thinking, you won't just heal your psychological wounds, you will build emotional resilience, you will thrive.

Our quality of life could rise just as dramatically if we all began practicing emotional hygiene.
