11月20日 科技论文写作学习笔记（一）

这个星期上课爆满，因为科技英文写作这门课浓缩到一周来上。那我这周就好好学习写作。

Abstract

should be complete, accurate, brief and intelligible.

structure of an abstract

B = background
P = purpose/principle activity/scope of the investigation
M = methods
R = results
C = conclusion

Quick Reference Guide Abstract

Your abstract should have:

1.the context of the research
2.a brief description of the methods
3.the major results
4.the most significant conclusions

Your abstract should not contain：

1.references
2.figures or tables
3.sections pasted in from the body of the report

Style:

1. brief - normally ~250 words
2. intelligible - can be understand on its own without the rest of the paper
3. one single paragraph
4. take care with acronyms or abbreviations
