【Daily Diary】Select Courses of SEEM for Studying in HongKong

As I wrote two days ago that I have to finish mocking course selection online these days, and tomorrow will be the deadline of mocking period, so today I focused on this thing.

I need to select courses for the whole learning year, including first term and second term. Actually, I didn’t realize this until I found that some courses were not on the website page, then I turned to my future classmates for help and they told me to choose term first, so then I saw there two terms and different courses for each term. When it comes to my future classmates, I have to say we help each other a lot from the application period, and now we are more closer even though we don’t see each other in real world.

Ok, back to the course selection.

In fact, I have no idea about what courses to take because I don’t have a specific target and only want to take some original courses, and you know once the expectations meet realities, there is always much trouble and I had done several steps in order to wipe out all the obstacles. Firstly, I viewed the SEEM official website carefully to watch the requirements for our students so as to figure out how many required courses or selective courses need to take. Secondly, I had to find out all the courses available on the courses selection system and which courses are set in the first term or the second term. When got all the information, I saw that some courses available on the official website but not show on the courses selection system. So there some mismatches between those two pages, and I should regard to the courses selection system. Thirdly, after figuring out these official materials and system, I started to learn each courses further by browsing information on the internet and asking some friends. Combining with my own interests and short career goal, I wanted to major in Information Systems of three stream offered by the school and to study more courses in Finance Engineering , a new area for me, so I quickly selected five selective courses from the whole available courses and one more spare selective course in case that some courses are later found not within my ability and potential or too easy. Finally I double checked all the courses, didn’t see mistakes , so exited the system and finished mocking the courses selection. Now let’s wait for the formal courses selection in August.

Well, it’s my process of courses selection. It feels so good to achieve this thing with several hours.
