…asked him to come all the way out to India and build him a colossal palace entirely out of chocolate.

everything was made of either dark or light chocolate!

be made of意为“由……

eg:The table is made of wood.

另一个是be made from 看不出原材料

Cheese are made from milk.

and the cement holding them together was chocolate,

When we are talking about things, you can use an -ing clause to say what sth. does all the time, not just at a particular time.

eg.  The road joining the two villages is very narrow. (the road joins the 2villages)

I warn you, though, it won’t last very long, so you’d better start eating it right away.

句型had better do

because soon after this, there came a very hot day with a boiling sun, and the whole palace began to melt, and then it sank slowly to the ground,...

Little Charlie sat very still on the edge of the bed, staring at his grandfather. Charlie’s face was bright, and his eyes were stretched so wide you could see the whites all around.

so that 中的that 是可省的。

are you pulling my leg?

Of course it’s true! Ask anyone you like!

he leaned closer to Charlie, and lowered his voice to a soft, secret whisper.

to 和into 都可以

‘All factories,’ said Grandpa Joe,‘have workers streaming in and out of the gates in the mornings and evenings – except Wonka’s!.. '

There was no sign of joking or leg-pulling on any of them.

it’s time for bed. That’s enough for tonight.

it's time for sb. to do sth.

注意it's time you did sth.

It's time the children were in bed, it's long after their bedtime.
