近日，中国海军航母辽宁舰与美国海军的一艘驱逐舰在菲律宾海有了近距离接触。
这一消息曝光自美国海军官方发布的一张照片。美军在照片注释中解释称，这张照片是4月4日在菲律宾海拍摄的，照片里的两名美军军官是“马斯廷”号驱逐舰的指挥官罗伯特·布里格斯中校与理查德·斯莱中校，他们当时正在导航室里监测水面接触情况。

照片显示，“马斯廷”号导弹驱逐舰与中国海军航母辽宁舰并排航行，这两艘军舰的距离并不算远，甚至可以很清楚的从美军的视角看到辽宁舰的舷号和甲板上的舰载机。
美国海军表示，“马斯廷”号属于第71特遣部队/第15驱逐舰中队，后者是美国海军最大的驱逐舰中队，也是美国第七舰队的主要水面部队。
4月5日，中国海军新闻发言人高秀成海军大校介绍，日前，中国海军组织辽宁舰航母编队在台湾周边海域进行训练，这是根据年度工作计划组织的例行性训练，旨在检验部队训练成效，有利于提高维护国家主权、安全、发展利益的能力。今后，中国海军仍将按计划常态组织类似演训活动。
