True Maturity Is the Maturity of the Mind and Spirit

For the whole society, the whole human race, the whole world, is it or is it not better that you have been here? If you have not been able to do this, then you havenot brought about anything of genuine value. What we call something of genuine value is the spirit of benefitting living beings. It is only when you have done things which genuinely benefit living beings that you have been able to bring about something of genuine value from the standpoint of the whole universe and all living beings （page 178）

maturity /məˈtjʊərɪtɪ, -ˈtʃʊə-/N-UNCOUNT Maturity is the state of being fully developed or adult. 发育成熟 例：Humans experience a delayed maturity; we arrive at all stages of life later than other mammals.人类经历着一个迟来的成熟；我们进入生命各个阶段的时间比其他哺乳动物要晚。

genuine /ˈdʒɛnjʊɪn/ ADJ Genuine is used to describe people and things that are exactly what they appear to be, and are not false or an imitation. 真正的 例：There was a risk of genuine refugees being returned to Vietnam.有把真正的难民遣送回越南的风险。

ADJ Genuine refers to things such as emotions that are real and not pretended. 真诚的 例：If this offer is genuine, I will gladly accept it.如果这份帮助是真诚的，我将愉快地接受它.

Living beings:
