Marco Polo travelled across Europe and Asia with his father,and they eventually arrived Beijing.Marco Polo was so clever which he could speak four languages,which impressed the Yuan Dynasty Emperor Kublai Khan.However,the Emperor asked him to serve in his court and did many important tasks.Marco was amazed by what beautiful and powerful China was and was very impressed by Beijing and the Emperor Palace.He was surprising to see Chinese people using paper money to pay for goods.Marco was also confused by the black stones people used to burn for fuel.

After years of service to the Emperor,Marco became wealth and returned to Italy.He was caught in a local war and put into the prison.But he was lucky enough to meet a prisoner who was an author and interested in his stories about China.The prisoner wrote the stories that Marco told in a book,which became one of the best-selling book in Europe.

Many people didn’t believe the stories,but Marco said he had only told a half of what he had seen.
