Interview: basic question and my answer

With my qualification and experience I feel I am hardworking, responsible and diligent in any project I undertake. Your organization could benefit from my analytical and interpersonal skills.

2. how do you rate yourself as a professional?

with my strong academic background I am capable and competent.

3. what do you think you are worth to us? why should I hire you?

You need someone who has strong background in computer science or other related field, this is where I spent almost all of my study years. I believe I know the best method, algorithm, principle, and successful technique as well as any person in your company. I feel I can make some positive contribution to your company in the future.

4. what make you think you would be a success in this position?

My graduate school training combined with my doctorial research should qualify me for this particular job. I am sure I will be successful.

5. are you a multi-task individual? do you work well under stress and pressure?

The trait is needed in my current position and I know I can handle it well.

6. what is your strongest trait?

adaptability and strong learning ability.

7. how would your friend or colleagues describe you?

They say Mr. Ying is an honest, hardworking, responsible and diligent man who deeply cares for his family and friends.

8. what personality traits do you admire?

I  admire a person who is honest, flexible, and easy-going.

9. how do you normally handle criticism?

Normally the criticism is helpful for me and I will accept and improve myself in my future work and life.

10. what do you find frustrating in a work situation?

When we miss some opportunity or we have to face the failure while we need not to.

11. how do you handle your conflict with your colleagues in your work?

I will try to discuss with my colleagues and find out where the problem is until we get the common point.

12. how do you handle your failure?

Face it, analyse the reason why I am failed then I never make the second mistake. You know, none of us was born perfect.

13. what provide you with a sense of accomplishment?

Doing my best job for your company.

14. how long would you like to stay with this company?

I will stay as long as I can continue to learn and to grow in my field.

15. could you project what you would be doing five years from now?

I hope to demonstrate my ablity and talent in my field adequately. Or perhaps an opportunity at a management position would be exciting.

16. what are your salary requirment?

Salary is not my primary consideration but I do have to pay the bills, so I am open to any reasonable offer.

17. what are your major weakness?

I am generally nervous giving presentations but, with preparation, I have found I am much more confident.

18. are you being interviewed by any other companies?

I do have some other options, in this particular field, but this company is my first choice.

19. why are you interested in working with this company?

I am interesting in working with your company because I know yours is one of the largest computer companies in our country(province, city). My major in the university was computer engineering, so I wish to have the opportunity to apply my knowledge here. Your firm has a good reputation in the ***. Anyone who work at your firm can set his heart at ease about his own future. That is why I have interested in applying to your firm. My past experience is closed related to this job. I am confident of doing this job well. Therefore I am desirous to  get this position.
