Sybase ASE 15.7 Installation Guide For AIX

 

This article only show you how to install sybase ASE on AIX.After fewer days i'll write more articles about sybase ASE daily management.If you want to download Sybase ASE software or patch,you must register a account on sybase website.

1.Download Sybase ASE 15.7 from http://downloads.sybase.com/.

2.Create Sybase user and group

#mkgroup sybase
#mkuser pgrp=sybase groups=sybase home=/sybase sybase
#echo sybase:sybase|chpasswd;pwdadm -c sybase
#chown -R sybase.sybase /sybase

3.Running setup.bin to install

#cd /u01/tmp
# gunzip -S .tgz ase157_aix64.tgz|tar xf -
#su – sybase
$cd /u01/tmp
$ ./setup.bin

Sybase Control Center - Configure Self Discovery Service Adaptor

Discovery Services provide client applications the ability to find Sybase
