8-1 Vmotion 介绍

vMotion provides the ability to perform a live migration of

a VM from one ESXi host to another ESXi host without service

interruption. This is a no-downtime operation; network

connections are not dropped and applications continue

running uninterrupted. In fact, the end users do not know

and are not aware that the VM has been migrated between

physical ESXi hosts. When you use vMotion to migrate a VM

from one ESXi host to another ESXi host, this means you also

migrate the resource allocation ― CPU and memory ―

from one host to another.

按照电源状态来分,它分为 热迁移和冷迁移

按照功能来分,它分为主机迁移,存储迁移,和主机存储同时迁移

注意: 主机&存储迁移只能冷迁移

8-2 Vmotion的条件

概括来说 有三点:

1共享存储

2指派 vmtion的 vmkernel接口 (要求网络带宽为千兆,且源和目标主机有相同的网络配置)

3 要求不同主机有相同的CPU

我们在同一个主机中 从local disk把 win2003-1 迁移到 ISCSI SAN 中
