Symantec's Consumer Business Unit, the team that brings you the trusted "Norton" security, is going Mobile. The newly formed Mobile team in Symantec is is looking for talented individuals to work on the next generation of industry leading products, technologies and services. Join Symantec’s Consumer Business Mobile team develop the latest and greatest in technology across multiple devices.
We are looking for experienced iOS developers who will help us build slick, usable, high performing mobile apps. Our mobile apps need to deal with gigabytes of data, present it in an usable manner and allow users to access, view and edit their data. Some of the challenges that you will help solve:
- Efficiently and securely access hundreds of Petabytes of user data on various form factors –iPhone, iPads etc.
- Build slick mobile apps which will serve hundreds of thousands of files to millions of users
If you like solving interesting user experience challenges, pride on the response time of your app, debate on the merits and demerits of a touch up versus touch down buttons, this position is for you.
Responsibilities:
- As a mobile application specialist, you will build mobile applications that allow users access to their data anywhere, anytime
- Bring experience from designing, developing, testing and publishing applications in the AppStore.
- Write solid code quickly
- Be comfortable working in a fast paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly
- Quickly understand requirements and come up with a solution proposal
- Write excellent design and functional documents
- Communicate design and architecture to cross functional teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5 or more years of professional software development experience
- Proven ability to build clean, crisp, highly usable mobile applications
- At least one year of mobile development experience on iOS
- Strong knowledge in Objective C and Cocoa
- iOS network programming experience and protocol fundamentals
- Good understanding of OOP and design patterns
- Experience working on Agile teams
