Citrix XML Service Fails to Start after Upgrading to Citrix Licensing 11.6.1

Symptoms
After upgrading to Citrix Licensing 11.6.1 on a XenApp server that uses port 8080 for the Citrix XML service, the Citrix XML service fails to start when the server is rebooted.

Cause
The Tomcat service that hosts the License Management Console is configured to use port 8080 in the latest release of the Citrix Licensing component (11.6.1).  When the Tomcat service starts after the upgrade is completed, it uses an alternate temporary port because 8080 is already in use C there is no warning provided during the upgrade process.  After rebooting the server, the Tomcat service starts using port 8080 and the Citrix XML service then fails to start.

In the previous version of the Citrix Licensing component (11.5), Tomcat was configured to use port 8008.

Resolution
To minimize the impact on your environment and until a licensing update is released to correct the issue, perform the following steps:

1. With Notepad, edit the Tomcat service configuration file: server.xml
located in C:\Program Files\Citrix\Licensing\LMC\Tomcat\conf
    a. Use Ctrl+H to Find and Replace all instances of 8080 with 8008.
    b. Exit and Save the file changes.
2. Restart the Citrix License Management Console service.
3. Restart the Citrix XML service.
The readme file for Citrix Licensing 11.6.1 has been revised to include this fix.
