原子类型数据需要同步吗?

    You may hear it said that to improve performance, you should avoid synchronization
when reading or writing atomic data. This advice is dangerously wrong.
While the language specification guarantees that a thread will not see an arbitrary
value when reading a field, it does not guarantee that a value written by one thread
will be visible to another. Synchronization is required for reliable communication
between threads as well as for mutual exclusion.

    原子类型数据(基本类型long、double除外),是不是操作它们的时候出于性能考虑就用不着同步了呢?

JLS规定一个线程读数据时不会见到任意值(也就完成互斥),但不保证被此线程所写的数据对另一线程可见。

// Cooperative thread termination with a volatile field
public class StopThread {
    private static volatile boolean stopRequested;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws InterruptedException {
        Thread backgroundThread = new Thread(new Runnable() {
            public void run() {
                int i = 0;
                while (!stopRequested)
                    i++;
                }
        });
        backgroundThread.start();
        TimeUnit.SECONDS.sleep(1);
        stopRequested = true;
    }
}

 以上是正确代码
