Ubuntu8.04下Java开发环境配置

Note:

1.the different of  etc/profile and etc/environment

 

2.sure to uninstall the installed jdk via 新立得软件包管理器

 

Instruction:

A)Install JDK

Assume:jdk***.bin install file are stored in /home/edward/softwares/(according to the SUN JDK install instruction:my install program is the self-exact type)

1.Go to directory /opt which dir that i want to install the jdk

Type:

edward@edward-laptop:/opt$ sudo /home/edward/softwares/jdk-1_5_0_15-linux-i586.bin 

 press space until the program ask u "Do you agree to the above license terms? [yes or no] ", type yes then begin to install

 

2.Config the environment varaible

Type:

edward@edward-laptop:/opt$ sudo /etc/profile

 

Append below config to the end of the profile:

JAVA_HOME=/opt/jdk1.5.0_15

PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH

CLASSPATH=.:$JAVA_HOME/lib/dt.jar:JAVA_HOME/lib/tools.jar

export JAVA_HOME
export PATH
export CLASSPATH

 

Then relogin to the sys, type command "java -version" to validate all.
