Futures little changed as investors keep a wary eye on oil prices.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- A cautious open was on tap Tuesday for Wall Street as investors waited to see if oil would continue to stay back of the record high set 11 days ago.
At 4:40 a.m. ET, Nasdaq and S&P futures were little changed.
U.S. stocks finished lower Monday, hurt by new data showing a soft economy, S&P ratings cuts for some leading investment banks and shakeups of management at banking companies Wachovia (WB, Fortune 500) and Washington Mutual (WM, Fortune 500).
Markets Oil prices fell 30 cents to $127.46 a barrel in Asian electronic trading, and remained about $8 below the record above $135 set May 22. Market participants are looking for clues about whether another run at the record is imminent.
The dollar weakened against the euro and yen following Monday's stock selloff.
Asian stocks ended lower Tuesday, with Tokyo's Nikkei index losing 1.6%. European markets were mixed in early trading.
Lehman Brothers The investment bank is considering whether to raise up to $4 billion as it prepares to report its first-ever quarterly loss as a public company, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. Stock (LEH, Fortune 500)
Brocade Communications The network equipment company agreed to pay $160 million to settle allegations that tampering with stock options hurt investors. Stock (BRCD)
