Open Notepad

Type in the following five lines

[Shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop

Now go to File --> Save As...

Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32 (for WinXP) or C:\WINNT\system32 (for Win2000 or NT)

Name the file "Show Desktop.scf" (remove the file extension ".txt" if notepad adds it, as the file will not work if it is named Show Desktop.scf.txt)

Now create a shortcut to this file (by right clicking it at the location you just saved it to, and selecting create shortcut)

Move this new shortcut to your Quick Launch bar.
