三、并列句

1 并列句的构成

并列句=多个简单句+并列连词
并列句表示多件事，多件事同等重要

1.1 表示顺接的并列连词

并列连词	表达含义
…and…	…和…(两者都)
both…and…	…和…(两者都)
not only…but also…	不但…而且…(…和…)
not only…but…	不但…而且…(…和…)
not only…but…as well	不但…而且…(…和…)

The finanical fallout has begun,and the politied fallout may not be far behind.
Almost all our major problems involve human behavior,and the cannot be solved by physical and biological technology alone.

1.2 表示转折的并列连词

并列连词	表达含义
…but…	…但是…
…yet…	…但是…
…while…	…但是…
…whereas…	…但是…

Naturally he will try to borrow money at a low rate of interest,but loans of this kind are not frequently obtainable.
We all understand that at some level,yet as medical consumers we treat death as a problem to be saved.
Most archaeological sites have been located by means of careful searching,while many others have been discovered by accident.

1.3 表示选择的并列连词

并列连词	表达含义
…or…	…或者…(二选一)
either…or…	…或者…(二选一)
neither…nor…	既不…也不…(两者都不选)

1.4 表示因果的并列连词

并列连词	表达含义
…for…	…因为…
…so…	…所以…

2 并列句的省略

并列句独有特点，相同的部分可以省略，余下的部分保持不变

The program keeps track of your progress and provides detailed feedback on your performance and improvement.
…the peoples died out or became assimilated and lost their native languages.
He must either sell some of his property or seek extra funds in the form of loans.
