Self-Confidence

I once thought I will never be able to do a public presentation in front of crowd because I was so keep to myself, so shy.
And I never spoke in front my classmates in my 7 - years high school life. I was so afraid that my heart beats faster even I imagine the picture of doing that.

Until that day, all of the class was given a task of preparing a public speech. By the time I heard the last word from teacher, I felt like so fucked up. How is it possible for a introverted boy like me to do a public speech? I was just so panic.

When I finally clam down, get rid of that panic condition, I actually started think about how this task can be accomplished. For example, what me subject to do, what content should be mentioned; some basic thing like these.

After all, I did a presentation about Parkour.
And…
It was actually much better than what I expected…

After that experience there are many presentation that I had done, the largest one was in front of hundreds of people. But they are all started from that embarrassing one that I did in that small classroom.

What I’m trying to state here is that, no matter how hard one task might seems to be, once you think it as a “must do”, you will automatically start thinking how you can get the thing done. And once you did it once, everything will just work out fluently for you in next time.

So when you have done a job that other people thought “Wow that is so hard, this man must be a genius to do that so well”, you can just smile and pretend you never know who is the guy who was freaked out in his first time.

At the end of article, I put down the poem written on the book “The Law of Success”:

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It is almost certain you won’t

If you think you’ll lose you’ve lost
For out of the world we find;
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are—
You’ve got to think high to rise
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before,
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
